When choosing designer clothing, there are three main areas that you should pay attention to: workmanship, materials used, and price. If you know how to access the workmanship and materials used, you'll know what is a good price to pay. Try not to pay for anything that's not worth its price unless you really cannot do with it. Pick up the designer jeans and examine the workmanship of the jeans. In most cases, jeans are almost always machine sewn these days. So your job is to act as the final quality check of the jeans, before making any decision whether you should buy it or not. Check for loose threads, poorly sewn pockets, and anything else that looks out of place. If everything is done properly, the threads should look neat and tidy.

Next, examine the materials of the jeans. True blue jeans are made from wool but modern jeans are made from cotton. The difference, again, lies in the way cotton is being processed to manufacture into jeans cloth. Feel the jeans with your hands to determine the texture and the thickness of the materials to see if you're comfortable with it. Some designer jeans even come with additional materials such as plastic and leather.

Once you're satisfied with the workmanship and the materials, it's now time to consider the price. It's important to follow fashion trends on a regular basis to have a good feel of what a good pair of jeans will cost. You can get the information from magazines, the Internet, or from window shopping. This will prevent you from paying extra unnecessarily when you know that you can purchase a similar pair of designer jeans for a much lesser amount.

But most designer clothing these days come in limited designs, so sometimes, it's a little difficult to compare pricing. Finally, make sure that you really feel comfortable with the clothing you are buying. If it doesn't feel comfortable, chances are you'll wear it just once or twice and it'll end up in some dark corner of your wardrobe.
